How to Perform Your Suno Songs Live

You made a song in Suno and now you want to play it. Here is how to get the lyrics, chords and backing track ready so the words keep up with you on stage.

Updated for QMe 1.48. From the team that makes QMe Prompter.

The short version

In QMe, choose Add Song, then Import from Suno. Paste your Suno lyrics, pick the stems you downloaded from Suno, and QMe builds the song and its backing track for you, without your vocal and the exact length of the song. Sing it through once and the lyrics follow the music on stage.

1. Download from Suno

Copy your song's lyrics, and download the stems (a ZIP of separate tracks: vocals, drums, bass, keys and more). Stems come with a paid Suno plan. If you only have the full song or an instrumental, you can use those audio files instead.

2. Import from Suno in QMe

In QMe, go to Add Song and choose Import from Suno. You can also open the ZIP or an audio file from the Files app and send it to QMe, and it lands in the same place.

Backing tracks are part of QMe Pro, and the free trial includes everything.

Already have the song in QMe? Open Tools > Backing Tracks, find the song and choose Stems to add the stems as its backing track. Prefer a computer? On qmeprompter.com, Import > Suno song mixes the stems into one backing track in your browser, and it is on your iPad the next time the song opens. The separate faders are in the app.

Mix it your way. In the app, every stem gets its own fader in the stem mixer, with mute, solo and a Master fader, and the song remembers your mix. Pick your instrument once under My part and it starts muted, so you play it live over the rest of the band. The backing track can also change key.

3. Get the chords

Suno does not give you chords, but QMe can write them for you. In Edit Song, tap Chords from stems and QMe puts the chords over your lyrics, on the word where each change lands, with chord rows for the intro, instrumental and outro, and fills in the key and tempo. Play it through once and change anything you hear differently, or tap Undo. Full walkthrough: How to get the chords for your Suno song.

Prefer to write them yourself? Put each chord on the line above the word it lands on, and QMe keeps it there.

4. Let QMe learn the song

Press play and sing it through once with Voice Follow on. While the track plays, QMe notes where each section starts, so next time the lyrics follow the music on their own. You can also tap mark on the section list and tap each part as it starts.

Practice it first. In Tools > Backing Tracks, loop the part you are learning and slow the track down to as little as half speed. The key stays the same. On stage, you set the speed with Track Speed in the prompter settings, and the track keeps playing even with the iPad locked.

5. Take it on stage

QMe runs on iPhone and iPad, and it is free to start, with a 30 day full-access trial and no card. Get it on the App Store.

Questions

Can I perform my Suno songs live?

Yes. In QMe Prompter choose Add Song and Import from Suno, paste your lyrics and pick your Suno stems. QMe builds the backing track without your vocal and moves the lyrics in time with the music while you play.

Can QMe write the chords for my Suno song?

Yes. Bring the song in with its stems, then in Edit Song tap Chords from stems. QMe writes each chord over the word where it changes, adds chord rows for the intro, instrumental and outro, and fills in the key and tempo. Treat it as a first draft and play it through once.

How do I get a backing track from a Suno song?

Download the stems from Suno, then in QMe choose Add Song and Import from Suno and pick the stems ZIP. QMe leaves out your lead vocal and combines the rest into one backing track, the same length as the song.

Which audio files work as a backing track in QMe?

MP3, M4A and WAV, or a Suno stems ZIP through Import from Suno.

Can I add Suno stems to a song I already have in QMe?

Yes. In Tools > Backing Tracks, find the song and choose Stems, then pick the stems ZIP. QMe leaves out your lead vocal and saves the rest as the song's backing track. You can also do it on qmeprompter.com with Import > Suno song.

Can I turn the drums up or mute my own part?

Yes. In QMe the stems stay on separate faders in the stem mixer, with mute, solo and a Master fader, and each song remembers its mix. Set My part to your instrument and it starts muted in every song.
