Chart View iOS WEB New in 1.45
The whole song on one page, the way a band reads it. Flip to it from the lyrics at any time, even mid-song.
Where to find it
Song screen → Lyrics | Chart switch (top right) · Web console → song → Chart tab · ▶ Perform → Chart
Tap Chart and the song turns into a chart: every section in its own box with its badge and name on the border, a song map of section badges across the top, and the Key, Tempo and Time in the corner. Tap Lyrics to go back to the scrolling prompter. QMe remembers which one you used last.
While the song plays, the line you are on lights up green, its section box is outlined, and the page follows you down. Tap any box, or any badge in the song map, to jump straight there.
Two columns or one: on an iPad or a computer the sections sit in two columns, filled left first and split so both columns come out about the same height. On an iPhone, or with extra-large type on, it is one column.
Chords, Nashville numbers or Roman numerals
Chart → Chords · Numbers · Numerals
Pick how the chords read. Numbers is the Nashville number system (1, 4, 5, 6m), Numerals is Roman numerals (I, IV, V, vi). Extensions are written small and raised, so a G7 in the key of G reads 1⁷, never "17".
- Numbers are worked out from the song's key, so set it in Edit Song. Until a song has a key, the chord names show.
- A minor key is numbered from its relative major, the usual Nashville habit: in E minor, Em reads 6m.
- Slash chords keep the bass: D/F# in D reads 1/3.
- Transpose the song and the letters change, the numbers stay the same. That is the point of numbers.
Black or white page, and extra-large type
Chart → ☀ / ☾ button · A button
The sun and moon button switches between a black page for a dark stage and a white page like paper. The A button turns on extra-large type, about 1.7 times the size in one column, for reading from the back of the stage.
Send the chart, or a whole setlist
Chart → share button · Setlist → ⋯ → Send Charts (PDF) · Web: Chart → print button
The share button turns the chart into a PDF (white page, two columns, chords as you have them showing) and hands it to Messages, Mail, AirDrop, Files or Print. Great for the sub who is learning the set.
From a setlist, Send Charts (PDF) puts every song in the set into one PDF, a page per song, in set order.
On the web, the print button opens a clean white copy and your browser's print window, where you can print it or choose Save as PDF.
Change key by voice
Song screen → 🎤 button beside the Lyrics | Chart switch
Tap the mic and a card shows what it is for: say the key you want the song in. Then just say it:
- "transpose to A", or just "A"
- "key of B flat", "F sharp"
- "up two", "down a half step"
- "back to the original key"
The chords change at once, in the lyrics and on the chart, and the new key is saved to the song.
If the new key lands wrong: QMe moves the chords from the song's saved key. If that key does not match the chords (a song saved in C that actually starts on D), the result is off by the same amount. Set the right key in Edit Song and it lands where you asked. A song with no key set uses its first chord as home. A song with no chords has nothing to change, and the card says so.
Speak in English for now, whatever the song's language. And if Voice Follow is listening, pause the song first: both need the microphone.
Rig and light buttons New in 1.48
Chart → the two buttons at the top right of each section
Every section box carries two buttons: a light and a rig. The first time you open a chart, a pop-up explains them.
- Hold the rig button, then change your rig or preset on your amp modeler or pedal. QMe learns it and switches your gear to that rig every time the song reaches this section.
- Hold the light button and the section gets its own lighting cue. QMe sends it straight away, so your lighting app or controller can learn the look you want for that section.
- Tap either button to test what is set.
What you need: for rigs, add your amp modeler or pedal in
My Gear, and connect its
MIDI Out back to the iPad as well as its MIDI In, because QMe has to hear the change. Your device has to send a Program Change when you change rigs (check its MIDI settings). For lights, add your lighting app or controller in My Gear first. Both are ordinary MIDI cues, so you can see and change them later in MIDI Cues.
Time signature
Edit Song → Time
Set 4/4, 3/4, 6/8, 2/4, 12/8, 5/4, 7/8, 9/8 or 2/2 on each song. It shows on the chart, sets the metronome, and shapes the count-in (a 6/8 song is counted in two).
Foot pedal
Teleprompter settings → Assign Pedal Buttons → Lyrics / Chart
Give a pedal button Lyrics / Chart to flip between the two hands-free. Next Section, Previous Section and Back to Top work on the chart too. See Foot Pedals.
QMe is free to download. A new account gets 30 days of full access, no card required.
